About R2E2 NPC
R2E2 (Recycle Reuse Electrical Electronic) is a not-for-profit Producer Responsibility Organisation (PRO)
operating under South Africa's Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Regulations. We specialise
in enabling national compliance and advancing responsible recycling within
the electrical and electronic equipment (EEE), and lighting sectors.
As a registered Producer Responsibility Organisation (PRO), R2E2 ensures that producers of
Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE), and Lighting meet their full EPR obligations.
This includes taking responsibility for every stage of a product's lifecycle, from design and
manufacturing through to responsible collection, recovery, and recycling at end-of-life.
Our journey began with a shared commitment to addressing South Africa's rapidly expanding e-waste
challenge in a responsible and sustainable way. Today, R2E2 plays a pivotal role in advancing the
circular economy by supporting producers, importers, and brand owners to align with national EPR
regulations and contribute to a cleaner, more compliant, and environmentally responsible South Africa.
R2E2 NPC operates across South Africa's Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE), Lighting,
and Paper & Packaging sectors under the national Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Regulations.
We are committed to responsible waste management and recycling, working closely with producers,
recyclers, waste reclaimers, municipalities, and government agencies to build a transparent, traceable,
and inclusive national system for managing e-waste and packaging materials.
Our team brings together expertise in environmental compliance, logistics, data management, and
sustainability. Through this, we make EPR compliance straightforward for South African producers
while supporting their contribution to a cleaner, more circular economy.
What We Do
EPR Compliance Support
We help producers understand and meet their EPR
obligations under South Africa's EPR regulations, offering step-by-step EPR
registration, administration and reporting support.
Collection & Recycling Programs
R2E2 manages nationwide e-waste collection and
recycling programs for electrical, electronic, and lighting equipment, ensuring
compliance with EPR guidelines South Africa.
Awareness & Education
Through EPR awareness campaigns, we promote
responsible recycling and take-back schemes that empower both businesses and
consumers to recycle electronics compliantly.
Collaboration & Partnerships
We work with stakeholders across the EPR waste
sector, strengthening South Africa's e-waste management ecosystem and driving
producer compliance support initiatives.
SMME Development
We strengthen local SMMEs by providing training and opportunities in e-waste collection
and recycling, promoting inclusive growth in the green economy.
Data & Reporting
We provide accurate and auditable data management and
